BLOOM

Design Takes Shape

"Experiment with materials and finishes to create spaces that truly serve you"

Where Your Sanctuary Comes Alive

With your layout established, it's time for your sanctuary to bloom through thoughtful material and finish selections. This stage transforms structural decisions into sensory experiences that support your wellbeing.

Materials aren't just aesthetic choices — they're the textures you'll touch daily, the surfaces that reflect light, the elements that age with you. Getting this right means creating a space that feels nurturing for years to come.

What You’ll Recieve

Material Selection Checklist

A systematic approach to choosing materials that align with your sanctuary vision while considering practical factors like maintenance, cost, and environmental impact.

Material Planning Features:

  • Natural vs. manufactured material considerations

  • Texture and tactile quality assessment

  • Durability and maintenance requirements

  • Environmental and health impact factors

  • Budget allocation and cost optimization

  • Visual harmony and cohesion planning

  • Lighting interaction and color temperature effects

  • Seasonal variation and aging characteristics

Beyond Aesthetic Appeal

Beautiful materials that don't suit your lifestyle quickly become sources of stress rather than sanctuary. Our systematic approach helps you choose materials that not only look right but feel right for your daily rhythms.

The template guides you through considering how materials will perform over time, how they'll respond to natural light throughout the day, and how they'll support the restorative qualities you're seeking in your sanctuary.

The Mindful Material Philosophy

Every material has a story — where it comes from, how it's made, how it ages, how it feels under your hand. Understanding these stories helps you make choices that align with your values and create authentic sanctuary spaces.

This isn't about expensive materials — it's about choosing thoughtfully, considering the full lifecycle and ensuring every selection supports rather than undermines your sanctuary vision.

Your Guide

My path has led from crafting iconic projects with Renzo Piano, David Chipperfield, and Junya Ishigami, to creating intimate sanctuaries for London's homeowners. Having also transformed two homes of my own, I understand both the professional expertise needed and the real challenges of working with limited budgets.

Through fourteen a.m., I bring sophisticated project management tools from commercial architecture into residential design, because your home sanctuary deserves the same careful attention as any landmark project.

Our clients words

  • Fourteen a.m. have been wonderful as we have worked together to re-imagine our house.  Winnie carefully listened to all our ideas and designed a thoughtful and sensitive scheme, bringing in her own creativity and introducing textures and materials that we would never have come up with ourselves.  She has also been super supportive on costs, helping guide our plans and suggesting areas where we could make our budget work harder for us.  We’re still in construction but the project is looking great and we’re so pleased that we chose Fourteen a.m. to go on this journey with us.

  • Winnie was a pleasure to work with on our full house renovation. Her ethos and design decisions were exactly what we hoped for. It was far from a simple project but Winnie's insight, guidance and creativity were incredibly valuable. We're delighted with the end product.

Her innovative designs and keen attention to detail brought our vision to life beautifully, combining both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Winnie’s dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit made the project a success beyond our expectations. We look forward to working with her again in the future!

  • We couldn’t be happier with the work Winnie did on our rear extension. Right from the start, she really took the time to understand our vision and brought it to life with her brilliant ideas and thoughtful design. Her attention to detail and ability to maximize the space while making it flow perfectly with the rest of our home was amazing. Winnie was always professional, approachable, and supportive, which made the whole process so much smoother and clearer! The final result has exceeded our expectations. We’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and reliable architect.
